Nurture children's curiosity

This resource centres respectful and inclusive food talk in early learning settings. The chart provides examples in the “Consider…” column that align with a child-centred, strengths-based approach.

Unsure what to say? It’s okay! Try responding with, “That’s a great question. Let’s find the answer together.”

When children are met with understanding and choice rather than pressure or correction, they’re more likely to feel safe and curious around new foods. This tool encourages you to describe food using the senses and create connections to what children already know.”
