🧾 This printable PDF includes three classroom-ready lessons that explore Indigenous food stories through storytelling, video, and hands-on activities.
Students will meet Knowledge Keepers and community members who share their experiences with gardening, farming, hunting, and food preparation. Through Ruby, Randy, and Mary and Hayze’s stories, students learn about respect for the land, relationships within communities, and the cultural traditions that shape how food is gathered and shared.
Each lesson invites reflection, discussion, and creative expression. Activities include collaborative drawing, talking circles, sorting and comic strip exercises, and opportunities to explore connections between people, plants, animals, and the land. Extension activities such as art projects, cooking, and nature walks offer ways to deepen classroom learning.
